There are some default palette wells that always appear as a group at the top of the Palette window. The names of these palette wells cannot be altered:
One further default palette well appears in the main area of the Palette window:
When a drawing has been processed by the Image Processor, all its paint regions are 'painted' with Unpainted and all its ink lines are inked with Default Trace. So, using these two palette wells to ink and paint, you can return a drawing back to its original state.
If a drawing has been processed by the Image Processor using the Auto-tone matte option (which is used to create tone mattes), all its paint regions are 'painted' with Opaque. The ink lines are inked with Default Trace. (For more information on the Image Processor application, refer to Processing the scanned images.)
The remaining palette wells shown in the Palette window are user-defined palette wells that have been selected by the color stylist for inking and painting drawings.
